If you will travel during school breaks, you must have all documents required for travel. Information about required documents can be found on the International Center Travel Information page.
During busy vacation periods plan for slower processing times for new visas and busy lines going through immigration at your port of entry.
What to Do If You Don’t Have a Travel Signature
If you left the U.S. without a travel signature on your I-20/DS-2019 visa document, you should consider re-scheduling your travel to the U.S. until you have a valid travel signature. If you are unable to change your travel plans and decide to re-enter the U.S. you may be granted temporary admission to the U.S. if you have a valid visa and are able to provide proof that you are a student or scholar at UCI and maintained valid visa status while in the U.S.
If you have a situation that requires services from the International Center during the break, send an email to internationalcenter@uci.edu. Include your name, visa status, and situation and we will respond to you as appropriate.
