The International Center is required to provide services within the parameters set by UCI Policy and is mandated to take the most efficient route to bring scholars to UCI. The International Center will carefully review the purpose and timeframe of the scholar’s visit and determine the best visa option available.

If the prospective scholar and hiring department opt to apply for H-1B and forgo other visa status options, the department will be required to pay an exception fee, in addition to the H-1B recharge fee.
